Report on the Kingston Y.M.C.A. F.C. Annual General Meeting and change of name, taken from Surrey Comet dated 23 April 1887 |
KINGSTON
Y.M.C.A. FOOTBALL CLUB.- The annual general meeting was held on Wednesday.
The secretary's report for the past season showed the working of the club
to have been very satisfactory. Seventeen matches had been played, six of
which were won, six lost, and five drawn. The number of goals scored for
the club was 22, against 30. The treasurer's report showed a balance in
hand of £1 14s. 6d. Thanks were tendered to the officers and patrons
of the club and the report adopted by acclamation. It being deemed advisable
to adopt a fresh title for the club, it was decided that in future the designation
should be "Saxons F.C. (Kingston Y.M.C.A.)," and that the uniform
be a white shirt with the Saxon badge and crimson caps. The club is open
to all, membership being subject, however, to the approval of the committee. See report in original format. A Similar report appeared in the Kingston & Richmond Express dated 23 April 1887- report in original format available here. |
